Hi there! My name is Aditi Sharma and I am a fourth year Finance and Marketing double major.
I know most people use their portfolios to talk about professional things but I figure thats what a resume is for - so here are a few fun facts about me!
I was born in India and moved to the states at the age of 3, and pretty much my entire childhood was spent right here in Cincinnati, Ohio. I attended Sycamore High School and had every intention of obtaining higher education somewhere far away from home (didn't we all), but luckily realized that UC has more to offer than I could ever hope for.
In high school I was heavily involved in journalism and the marketing program. The Sycamore Leaf was awarded as the top student run newspaper in Ohio for the two years while I was in the position of managing editor, and quite possibly is the reason that I chose to pursue a Marketing degree.
And then there is what may be the biggest part of my life - dance. At the age of six, I started learning Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian form of dance, which I continued through high school and eventually earned a three year degree from Alagappa University in Chennai, India. I also took part in other styles of Indian dance throughout the years, including Bhangra, Bollywood, and Garba. And in my second year as a member, I became Co-Captain of UC Dhadak International Dance Team.
This year, I will be expanding my leadership roles as President of the American Marketing Association, as well as President of Unified for Uganda, so if you want to get involved in either of those don't hesitate to reach out!
In the short amount of time that I have spent at the University of Cincinnati, I have met so many amazing people, learned so many lessons, and had more opportunities that I could ever imagine. I won't lie, I am pretty unsure of what I want to accomplish in life, but one thing is for sure - interacting with and helping people is a passion of mine. And I hope that the next few years will be full of just that.
