Turin
Our time in Turin was significantly cut short because of the flight we missed, but regardless, the city had a charm that made it worth the wait. My favorite part of this city was its small-town charm and the welcoming environment. Everyone was willing to help with directions and the store owners were kind and respectful! I also thought that our company visit with Basic Net was an eye-opening experience to how different business and marketing are in Europe.
Milan
Milan was probably my favorite city of all because of the canals and the fusion of old architecture and new buildings. The city has a new and upcoming vibe and felt like it would be a really great place for people my age to live. I also loved being able to take a day trip to Parma and getting to see a bit of that country-side aspect of Italy that its known for. It was really cool being able to see how cheese is traditionally made - definitely wouldn't pass health standards in the States, but cool nonetheless!
Barcelona
Barcelona was interesting to me because I didn’t really know what to expect. Spanish culture isn’t very prevalent in Cincinnati so getting to see what the people do, wear, and eat on a regular basis was an eye-opening experience. The city was a lot bigger than i expected it to be, and our hotel was in the perfect location because you could see everything from the rooftop - Park Guell, La Sagrada Familia, all of it. We had a little more extra time in Barcelona so it was really nice to be able to explore the city on our own and find the hidden local spots so we could meet people who knew more about the city.
